| Market | Buying Rate | Selling Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Black Market (Parallel Market) | ₦1385 | ₦1393 |
| CBN Official Rate | ₦1374 | ₦1376 |
At the black market, also known as the parallel market, the Dollar exchanged at ₦1385 for buying and ₦1393 for selling on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, rates at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, official window ranged between ₦1374 and ₦1376.
The slight gap between the official market and the parallel market continues to reflect pressure on foreign exchange supply in the country, despite ongoing efforts by monetary authorities to stabilise the Naira.
Financial analysts say fluctuations in exchange rates are being influenced by demand for foreign currency, global oil market conditions and investor confidence in Nigeria’s economy.
Many businesses still rely on the parallel market to meet urgent forex needs due to limited access to official allocations.

Experts have also stressed the need for stronger export earnings, improved foreign direct investment and sustained fiscal reforms to support long-term stability of the local currency.
