Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has criticised media personality and African Democratic Congress chieftain, Dele Momodu, over his recent remarks comparing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to former military ruler Sani Abacha.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Momodu had, during a Sunday interview, described Tinubu’s leadership style as dictatorial, a comment that quickly stirred reactions across political circles.

Reacting in a post on X, Fani-Kayode said the comparison was both unfair and disrespectful, not just to the president but also to other members of the current administration.
While acknowledging his personal respect for Momodu, he suggested that the media figure may need to step back and reassess his views.
According to him, Momodu’s comments were overly harsh and failed to reflect a balanced perspective, adding that such remarks could be seen as dismissive of both government officials and Nigerians at large.

Fani-Kayode also used the opportunity to criticise the ADC, urging the party to focus more on building a credible opposition ahead of the 2027 elections rather than directing constant attacks at the ruling government.
He argued that the party currently lacks the structure and strength needed to compete effectively in Nigeria’s political space, using strong imagery to describe it as unprepared for the challenges ahead.
In his view, for the ADC to be taken seriously, it must develop focus, discipline, and the necessary capacity to function as a viable political force.
