EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 21-year-old was driving a black Audi RS 3 when he was caught by a speed camera close to the Carrington facility. Court documents showed he was travelling at 50mph in a 40mph zone on August 26, four days before sealing a £40 million transfer to Chelsea.
Garnacho admitted the offence through his lawyers at JMW Solicitors and apologised to the court. Magistrate Jane Haynes fined him £660, ordered him to pay £120 in costs and imposed a £264 victim surcharge. He also received three penalty points on his driving licence.
“Mr Garnacho accepts that he committed the offence of exceeding the speed limit and has pleaded guilty to the offence,” his lawyers wrote.
“Mr Garnacho explains this was an oversight on his part and apologises for the offence.
“Our client is embarrassed that he is currently in this position and apologises to the Court for the excess speed offence.”
He was initially charged with failing to respond to a request from Greater Manchester Police to identify the driver of the vehicle. That charge was later dropped after he pleaded guilty to speeding.
Court documents stated that the incident occurred at 17:51 BST on Carrington Lane, near the entrance to the club’s training ground. The case was handled last week under the Single Justice Procedure in a closed hearing.

Garnacho, an Argentina international who progressed through United’s academy but fell out of favour under former manager Ruben Amorim, has made 36 appearances for Chelsea and scored seven goals since his transfer.
