The self acclaimed human right activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has attracted so many reactions after he had issued a seven day notice to Fulani herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa, Oyo state due to the excessive killings and kidnappings going on in the town.
The Governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun, through his media aide Remmy Hassan, while speaking with “Punch Live” on Saturday, has reacted to the Sunday Igboho’s intervention in the farmers herders clash going on in oyo state.
He said Sunday Igboho is highly welcome in Ogun state to help them in defeating the incessant killings and kidnappings in the state, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Earlier residents of Yewa Local Government and some monarchs of Ketu-speaking villages in the Yewa North Local Government Area of the state, had lamented that they were brutalised by soldiers, who escorted herdsmen to graze in their communities.
When asked if the state government was ready for the ‘visit’ by Igboho, the Ogun State governor’s aide Hazzan said anybody who would help the security architecture of the state would be welcomed.
Hazzan, however, reiterated that Igboho “would be welcome for consultation” only and not for any form of violence.
He also added that though Igboho had no constitutional power to issue quit notices to Fulani herdsmen, the helpless security situation of Ibarapaland warranted the move by the self acclaimed human right activist.
Many people have continued to criticize Governor Makinde for threatening to arrest Sunday Igboho because of his intervention in the ibarapa community, considering that his Ogun state counterpart Dapo Abiodun wants Igboho’s to come to their aid.
