EKO HOT BLOG reports that addressing her supporters at the homecoming rally, Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her deep connection to her roots, vowing that nothing could stop her from returning to her people.

“Nobody and nothing can stop me from coming home. I’m an Ebira woman; this is my land. I’m the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know my roots; I’m not a bastard, and I’m not afraid of anybody,” she declared to a thunderous ovation.

Her visit came against the backdrop of rising political tensions, including her recent suspension from the Senate and reported threats of a recall. Despite warnings that public gatherings and convoys into the state would not be allowed, she insisted her visit was not political but a simple homecoming for the Sallah celebration.

“We heard on the news that rallies and gatherings would not be allowed, that roads would be blocked, and convoys would not be permitted into the state. I knew we were the targets. But this is not campaign season; we are not having a rally. I am simply returning home to celebrate Sallah with my people, and there is nothing unlawful about that,” she stated.
