A fresh political controversy has emerged in Oshodi-Isolo following comments made by a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Henry Ajomale, over the empowerment programme facilitated by the lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency, Okey-Joe Onuakaluasi.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the federal lawmaker recently came under criticism after releasing a list of beneficiaries sponsored for training programmes in countries including China and South Africa.

The programmes covered areas such as nursing, cybersecurity and food processing.
The initiative, however, sparked reactions among some constituents after claims emerged that a large number of the beneficiaries were of Igbo extraction, while only a few were identified as Yoruba.
Reacting during a meeting with constituents, Ajomale expressed displeasure over the distribution of the opportunities, arguing that indigenes of the constituency should not be sidelined.
The APC chieftain also stated that efforts would be made to reclaim the seat in the next election cycle, insisting that the party was now more united after past internal disagreements.

According to him, divisions within the APC contributed to the emergence of the current lawmaker, but the party has since resolved its differences and is preparing to field what he described as stronger candidates in future elections.
Ajomale further maintained that the constituency should be represented by someone who would prioritise the interests and development of the local community.
The remarks have since generated conversations within the constituency, with political observers noting the growing tension ahead of future electoral contests in the area.
