The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development (MYSD), in cooperation with the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), has rescued a nine-year-old child who was allegedly assaulted by one Baba Michael.
Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, said this on his official X handle @ Mo_ogunlende on Saturday.

He stated that the alleged assault occurred at the suspect’s apartment, 4, Azeez Ademola Street, off Anishere, Ayobo.
“This is in response to a viral video broadcast by Comedienne Princess, which raised the alarm and alerted the public to the unpleasant incident.
“The survivor has been placed in protective custody and she is receiving necessary medical care and psychological support through counseling,” he told reporters.
According to him, the suspected culprit has been captured and is currently in detention, with the DSVA overseeing the legal proceedings to ensure justice is done.
Ogunlende stated that MYSD and DSVA’s prompt intervention demonstrated the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to preserving the rights and well-being of all people, particularly vulnerable individuals.

The commissioner urged locals to continue reporting concerns to the ministry, urging them to “See Something, Say Something, Sort It Out”.
He underlined the government’s zero-tolerance policy for all forms of sexual and gender assault.
