Nations League: Haaland Breaks Norway Scoring Record In Win
Haaland netted his 33rd international goal early in the match, equalling the record held by Jørgen Juve, who played in the 1920s and 1930s. He then surpassed Juve in the second half, scoring his 34th goal for Norway.

Since making his national team debut in 2019, Haaland has reached the record in just 36 games. By comparison, Juve hit his tally of 33 goals in 27 appearances before switching to a defensive role and finishing his career with 45 caps. After retiring, Juve became a newspaper journalist, and his goalscoring record stood for 90 years before Haaland broke it.
Captaining Norway in the absence of Martin Odegaard, Haaland secured his record-breaking goal with a first-time shot from 16 yards out.
He ended the game with 10 shots, seven of which were on target. Alexander Sorloth also scored in the 2-0 win.

After the match, Haaland shared a social media post hinting at personal news, posting a picture of himself with the ball under his shirt and using a baby emoji alongside the word “soon,” suggesting his partner, Isabel, is expecting a child.
While Haaland’s 34 goals may pale in comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 132 international goals for Portugal or Lionel Messi’s 109 for Argentina, his total still surpasses the top scorers of many other nations. For instance, Scotland’s Kenny Dalglish and Denis Law both sit at 30 goals each.
