Speaking in Onitsha, today, Obi described the court ruling on the petition as against justice.
He acknowledged the Tribunal’s adherence to statutory time frame and expressed respect for the court’s views and rulings but fails to accept the judgment’s rationale and final conclusions.
He stated his intention, in his capacity as a presidential candidate and on behalf of the Labour Party, to immediately challenge the judgment through the appellate process, as permitted by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Obi expressed his confidence in the Supreme Court, which he emphasized is the apex judiciary system and has the veto power pass the judgment.
He urged Nigerians to maintain peace and order by adhering to the rule of law and remain calm in this process.
Obi made it known that his legal team have received the directive to file an appeal against the Tribunal’s verdict on the challenge against Tinubu’s victory.
