The Super Eagles maintained control for most of the first half, creating chances and keeping Iran on the back foot before the break.
Nigeria extended their advantage early in the second half when Ademola Lookman set up Akor Adams, who converted in the 51st minute to make it 2-0.
Head coach Eric Chelle made several changes during the match, handing debuts to Emmanuel Fernandez and Chibuike Nwaiwu, who replaced Semi Ajayi and Igoh Ogbu respectively.

The match marked Nigeria’s first outing since securing a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and followed their World Cup qualification exit after a penalty defeat to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It was the third meeting between both countries. Nigeria won their previous friendly in 1998, while their 2014 World Cup group stage encounter ended in a draw.

The Super Eagles will now shift focus to their next friendly against Jordan on Tuesday, also in Turkey.
