We Remain Committed To Yorubas’ Unity – Heritage Forum
The President General of Heritage Forum, HRM, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, Aladeshonyin of Noforija Kingdom has reiterated the commitment of the forum to the unity of the entire Yoruba Nation.
Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja made this declaration at the Palace of the Alake Of Egba land during the courtesy call of the delegation to the Paramount Ruler of Egba land.
In an exclusive interview with Ekohotblog, Oba Babatunde opined that the call is more compelling in light of the security challenges that have plagued the Southwest region of Nigeria.
He, however, commended the efforts of the Six Governors of Southwest for the initiative in the establishment of Amotekun which he believes will have a considerable impact in addressing the security challenges of the region.
Oba Ogunlaja enjoined the Governors to heed the advice of the APC National leader to initiate a dialogue with the federal government to address some of the grey areas so as to make it a permanent law of the land.
The Alake of Egba land, HRM Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the heritage forum. He commended them for their selfless act and their unflinching allegiance to the unity of Yoruba nation.
The fight against insecurity challenges of the region is the collective responsibility of all sons and daughters of oduduwa, he concluded.
In attendance were prominent sons and daughters of Egba. The Akingbayi of Egba land, Otunba Sam Dipeolu also commended the leadership of the heritage forum for their commitment to the unity of the Yoruba Nation.
The Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters in Ogun State, Hon Afuwape while welcoming the delegation at the statehouse in Okemoson assured them of the support of the State Government. The Southwest region must be protected and its security must not be compromised, he said.
HRM Heritage Forum” the world’s largest forum of traditional rulers, a platform for the promotion of the rich African Culture and Traditions to the world through our local heritage contents. It is also a forum that addresses issues that are germane to the development of Nigeria particularly the Yoruba nation.
