Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the matter had been officially reported to the police and officers immediately responded to the scene.
According to him, the remains were evacuated and deposited in a mortuary, while an autopsy would be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Ojelabi noted that no visible signs of violence were found on the deceased, but assured that investigations had commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sources said some items recovered from the room included a knife, a mobile phone and an empty bottle containing an unidentified substance.
A man who identified himself as Kemisola’s elder brother said he last saw her earlier in the week.
According to him, the deceased had told him on Monday that she would return, but he did not hear from her again until news of her death surfaced.

He described her as a hairstylist.
A neighbour, Damilola, also described Kemisola as friendly and respectful, saying she had greeted him when she returned to the apartment earlier in the week.
He explained that the deceased had reportedly moved out months ago due to poor electricity supply and had been staying with her maternal uncle, adding that many residents were unaware she had returned until the odour from the apartment drew attention.
