Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has expressed confidence that the long-running Boko Haram insurgency will soon be brought to an end, assuring residents of continued efforts to secure lasting peace.
In an Easter message released on Sunday through his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, the governor extended greetings to Christians in Borno and across Nigeria, while highlighting the importance of unity and resilience, Eko Hot Blog gathered.

Zulum noted with satisfaction the growing harmony between Christians and Muslims in the state, urging residents to preserve the peaceful coexistence as the government intensifies efforts to stabilise the region.

He described Easter as a period that reflects sacrifice, forgiveness, and love, adding that it marks the conclusion of the Lenten season, a time dedicated to prayer, fasting, and reflection.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving both security and the welfare of citizens. He disclosed that palliative support has been expanded to benefit over 300,000 households as part of measures to ease economic hardship.
Zulum also called on residents to remain united and avoid actions that could create division, especially during the current political climate. He stressed that collective effort is essential to sustaining the progress made so far.

He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, other security agencies, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, as well as local hunters and vigilantes for their contributions to counter-insurgency operations.
In addition, the governor praised traditional rulers and religious leaders for promoting peaceful coexistence, urging them to continue fostering unity across communities.
He expressed optimism that with sustained cooperation and determination, Borno State will overcome its security challenges and achieve long-term peace.
