Represented by Godwin Mutkut, Shaibu described the gathering as not only a festive occasion but also a moment for reflection on duty, sacrifice, and shared commitment among personnel.

He congratulated Muslim soldiers and their families for successfully completing the holy month of Ramadan.
The Army Chief highlighted the significance of this year’s observance, noting that Ramadan coincided with the Christian Lenten period, allowing both Muslim and Christian personnel to engage in fasting and spiritual reflection at the same time.
According to him, the discipline, endurance, and moral renewal associated with both periods are values that strengthen soldiers professionally and personally.
Shaibu also paid tribute to troops who lost their lives in active service, describing them as heroes whose sacrifices continue to inspire others.

He acknowledged those currently deployed in challenging environments, often far from their loved ones, and reassured them of the Army’s commitment to improving their welfare.
He stressed that military effectiveness depends not only on equipment and strategy but also on the morale and well-being of personnel. He added that efforts would continue to enhance living conditions, training opportunities, and support systems for soldiers and their families.
The Army Chief further expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing support to the Armed Forces, particularly in welfare and operational capacity.
In his remarks, Paul Koughna, General Officer Commanding 8 Division, commended the initiative, noting that it aligns with efforts to boost troop morale amid ongoing security operations.
A representative of Dikko Umaru Radda also praised the soldiers for their bravery in tackling insecurity and assured continued support from the state government in terms of logistics and welfare.

The event concluded with senior officials personally serving meals to the troops, symbolising appreciation and unity.
It also underscored ongoing efforts to encourage personnel engaged in operations across Katsina State, where security challenges such as banditry and kidnappings persist.
Operation Fasan Yamma remains a key joint security effort aimed at restoring peace in the North-West, with the Nigerian Army playing a leading role alongside other agencies.
