The African Democratic Congress has unveiled its timetable for the 2026 primary elections, detailing a structured schedule for nomination processes, screening, and party conventions.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the party said the timeline is designed to ensure transparency, order, and adherence to electoral procedures.

According to the schedule, the sale of nomination forms will take place from May 5 to May 10, while completed forms are to be returned between May 11 and May 13.

Screening of aspirants is fixed for May 14 and May 15, with the outcome to be made public on May 17. Candidates dissatisfied with the results can submit appeals from May 18 to May 19, while the final list of approved aspirants will be released on May 20.
Primary elections will begin on May 21, covering contests for State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and Senate positions at the ward level. Governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary will hold on May 25.
The process will be concluded with a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee on May 26, followed by a Special National Convention on May 27 for final approvals.

The party also outlined fees for nomination forms, setting the presidential form at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State Assembly at ₦3 million.
To encourage broader participation, the ADC announced discounts for certain groups, offering half price forms for youths and a 25 percent reduction for women and persons living with disabilities.
The party urged members and aspirants to comply fully with the timetable and guidelines as preparations for the elections progress.
