Association of Estate Agents of Nigeria (AEAN) has debunked claims of associating with 700 billion real estate fraud transaction that occurred between a foreign investor Dr. Kimberly Ellen Stark and a self-acclaimed Nigerian realtor.

During an exclusive interview with Ekohotblog, at the AEAN Lagos general meeting held at Ikeja Lagos, on Thursday 30th of January, the AEAN Lagos Chapter Chairman, Realtor Chief Adeolu Ogunbanjo, mentioned that the fraudulent act was a result of transacting with an unlicensed and unregistered real estate professional.
Ekohotblog recalled that, Dr. Kimberly was recently in a viral video appealing to the Nigerian government for investigation regarding 6 plots of land, she purchased for 700billion in Nigeria.
The Foreign investor who Hails from Chicago Illinois United States declared her love for Nigeria, which prompted her purchase of 6 plots of Land in Ajah,Lagos.
However, AEAN Lagos chapter has proposed that the victim may reach out for collaborative investigation.
According to Realtor Adeolu Ogunsanya, “ we can help investigate the transaction If she reports to us, because we have global presence through the national association of realtors.” he stated.
The AEAN publicity secretary, Realtor Adeniyi Tinubu, also advised foreign investors to do due diligence and proper background check before engaging in any transaction.
“we advice foreign investors that If they want to do any transaction, make sure you go through research on the specific property you want to buy and address according to the ethical standard of lagos state real estate .”he said.
