- A prominent internal coalition, the APC Solidarity Group & Allied Associations, has officially petitioned the national leadership to block Governor Bala Mohammed from joining the party.
- The group submitted a formal petition to APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, outlining ten specific reasons why the Governor’s admission would be detrimental to party cohesion.
- Citing his persistent public criticism of President Bola Tinubu and ideological inconsistencies, the coalition has declared the Governor unwelcome within the Bauchi State chapter.
The political landscape in Bauchi State has been jolted by a fierce internal pushback against rumors that Governor Bala Mohammed is planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that on Saturday, April 11, 2026, the APC Solidarity Group & Allied Associations issued a stern warning to the party’s national headquarters, arguing that admitting the Governor would compromise the internal stability and credibility of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by I.B. Muhammad and Abubakar Abdullahi, the group highlighted what they described as the Governor’s “constant barrage of negative remarks” toward the APC-led Federal Government.
They pointed out that Senator Bala Mohammed has repeatedly accused the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of being responsible for the country’s current economic hardships and insecurity, allegations the group believes make him ideologically incompatible with the party.
They argued that his criticisms were not altruistically driven but served a personal political agenda.
Beyond ideological clashes, the group raised concerns over existing rivalries within the Bauchi APC.
They noted that the Governor’s entry could ignite fresh conflicts with established party stakeholders such as Isa Yuguda, Yakubu Dogara, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and Shehu Buba Umar.

The petition suggests that the Governor has lost significant grassroots goodwill in Bauchi, and his admission could demoralize loyal party members who have spent years building the APC’s local structure in opposition to his administration.
The coalition emphasized that the collective interest of the party must take precedence over the admission of a single individual, especially one they deem a political risk.
By declaring him “persona non grata,” the group has signaled a readiness to resist any top-down attempts to integrate the Governor into the state’s executive council.
As the 2027 election cycle begins to take shape, this internal revolt underscores the high stakes of political realignment in Bauchi and the challenges of maintaining party unity in a volatile political climate.
