In a birthday message issued by the diaspora organisation on Thursday, the club praised the governor for his visionary leadership and commitment to public service, saying his efforts continue to inspire hope and foster development across Lagos State.
“Your visionary leadership, dedication to public service, and your undiluted commitment to a Greater Lagos continue to inspire hope, foster development, and enhance the lives of many citizens,” the statement read.
The club also acknowledged the governor’s support for its activities and his partnership with Nigerians in the diaspora, describing both as deeply appreciated.
“Your consistent support for Eko Club International and your ongoing partnership with the diaspora are deeply appreciated,” it added.
Beyond the birthday celebration, the organisation said it was also marking Sanwo-Olu’s outstanding achievements and his devotion to making Lagos a true Centre of Excellence.

Members of the club prayed for the governor, asking that God grant him renewed strength, divine wisdom, good health, and ongoing protection as he continues to lead Lagos State.
“We pray that Almighty God grants you renewed strength, divine wisdom, good health, and ongoing protection as you steer Lagos State toward even greater prosperity and progress,” the statement said.
The club, with chapters across the United States, Canada, and Europe, also reaffirmed its dedication to contributing to the growth and sustainable development of Lagos State.
Recall that Sanwo-Olu joined members of Eko Club International in New Jersey last September for their 14th Biennial Convention and 25th Anniversary celebration.
The governor commended the group for 25 years of building bridges across continents, supporting communities, and showcasing pride in Lagosian heritage.
At the event, Sanwo-Olu received the Eko Club International Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He also used the platform to highlight what he described as the “Lagos Advantage,” pointing to the state’s recent milestones, including hosting global events, expanding the metro system, exporting refined petrol to the United States for the first time, and advancing the Free Trade Zone into Africa’s largest industrial hub.
