Egunjobi, who served as the Agege LG chairman for eight years, emphasized his deep familiarity with the needs of the area.
He pledged to bring “purpose, experience, and clarity” to the Green Chamber, ensuring that the legislative agenda is dictated by direct consultations with the people of Agege.
Agege remains one of the most strategically significant political zones in Lagos State.
It is the home base of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and is currently led by his son, Abdulganiyu Obasa, at the local government level.

Egunjobi’s declaration adds a fresh layer of competition to the APC’s internal dynamics as the party prepares for its upcoming primaries.
“The people of Agege want change; that is why they called on me to come and run,” Egunjobi told supporters.
He highlighted his administrative track record, noting that his eight-year tenure provided him with a clear understanding of the specific socio-economic challenges facing his constituents.
In a move seen as a strategic push to solidify his base, Egunjobi announced a ₦1.5 million donation to each of the 13 wards in the constituency.
This ₦19.5 million injection into the local party structures was presented as a gesture to support the community and strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
Egunjobi assured his supporters that his representation would be characterized by accountability and a “bottom-up” approach to governance.
As the road to 2027 begins to take shape, his entry into the race signals a high-stakes battle for the Agege Federal Constituency seat.
