The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander for Anambra, Mrs. Joyce Alexander, confirmed the incident and attributed it to route violation.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the vehicles was driving against traffic, which led to the crash with the two other vehicles. The collision resulted in the death of four male adults, while one person sustained injuries.
“There were five male adults involved in the crash. Unfortunately, four lost their lives, and one was injured,” Mrs. Alexander reported to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The FRSC rescue team faced initial challenges during the operation, as local youths from the Oba community hindered their efforts.
However, the Anambra State Anti-tout personnel stepped in to carry out the rescue operation, ensuring that the victims were attended to and the vehicles were cleared from the scene.
Following the operation, traffic flow was restored, and the FRSC team continued managing the situation to avoid further disruptions.

“I extend my condolences to the families of the deceased,” she said. “This tragic incident highlights the risks associated with reckless driving, and I urge all motorists to drive safely and responsibly.”
