Ekohotblog reports that unknown gunmen stormed the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ebonyi State’s Ohaukwu Local Government Area and released those who had been held there.

Loveth Odah, the spokesman for the Ebonyi State Police Command, confirmed the incident to reporters.
She stated that police from the command had been dispatched to the impacted station.
She was unable to provide information about the incident, but according to accounts, the hoodlums also set fire to operating cars, and several policemen were shot.
Ekohotblog reports that the attack may not be unconnected to the current unrest in some parts of the southeast following the declaration of a sit-at-home order by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
