LEAGA will feature competitions in football, basketball, athletics, tennis, table tennis, relay races, draughts, ayo olopon, dance and fitness challenges, with both male and female participants expected to compete across different categories.
The initiative is also expected to bring together musicians, actors, comedians, DJs, media personalities and other key players in the entertainment industry for recreational activities outside the pressures of creative work.
Speaking on the development, the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, praised the organisers for contributing to sports development and youth engagement in Lagos State.

“We commend the organisers of LEAGA for their contribution to sports development and promotion. The initiative aligns with Lagos State’s vision of using sports and recreation as tools for youth engagement and social development,” he said.
Also speaking, the Lead Convener of LEAGA, Muyiwa Osinaike, explained that the initiative was designed to encourage stronger bonding and healthy interaction among stakeholders within the arts, culture and creative economy.
According to him, the project seeks to create a relaxed environment where entertainment practitioners and business stakeholders can connect beyond professional engagements.
The inaugural edition of the games has been dedicated to several notable Nigerian icons, including Segun Odegbami, Lazarus Ekwueme, Wole Soyinka, Bruce Onobrakpeya and Taiwo Ajai-Lycett.
Organisers added that the event will conclude with an awards and gala night to honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the entertainment and creative industries.
