Real Madrid have sanctioned midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde with fines of €500,000 each following a training-ground altercation that reportedly left Valverde requiring hospital treatment.
In a statement released on Friday, Eko Hot Blog reports that the Spanish giants confirmed that no sporting punishment would be handed to either player, adding that the fines marked the end of the club’s internal disciplinary process.

Valverde is expected to miss Sunday’s El Clásico clash against FC Barcelona after suffering a head injury during the incident. Madrid said the Uruguayan midfielder could be sidelined for up to two weeks.

Tchouameni, however, trained normally on Friday and remains available for selection ahead of the encounter at Camp Nou.
The club said both players admitted wrongdoing during the investigation and apologised to each other, as well as to teammates, coaches, club officials and supporters.
According to Madrid, the duo also accepted responsibility and expressed willingness to comply with any disciplinary measures imposed by the club.
Spanish reports claimed Valverde was escorted to a nearby hospital by coach Alvaro Arbeloa after sustaining a facial injury that required stitches.

Despite the reports, Valverde later attempted to calm speculation surrounding the incident, saying emotions and pressure from competition contributed to the disagreement.
In a post on social media, the midfielder insisted the injury happened accidentally after he struck a table during the argument and denied claims that either player physically attacked the other.
Reports in Spain suggested tensions between both midfielders escalated over two days of training sessions, with disagreements continuing on Thursday before the situation boiled over in the dressing room.

The incident comes at a difficult moment for Real Madrid, who are facing the possibility of ending a second straight campaign without a major title.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently trail Barcelona by 11 points in the La Liga title race, with Hansi Flick’s team capable of securing another league crown this weekend if they avoid defeat in Sunday’s showdown.
