Mojisola Meranda biography

Mojisola Meranda, now the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has made history as the first female to hold the position in the state.

Her emergence follows the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa, who was removed for gross misconduct and abuse of office.

Representing Apapa Constituency I, Meranda’s journey in politics and public service is both remarkable and inspiring.

In 2015, she successfully contested and won the election to represent Apapa Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

In the 8th Assembly, she chaired the House Committee on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) and later the Committee on Establishment, Training, Pension, and Public Service.
