For many of the elderly and widows who benefited from the exercise, the initiative represented more than just food support.
It served as reassurance that the administration remains connected to the welfare and everyday realities of vulnerable residents within the LCDA.
Unlike conventional distribution exercises that often require beneficiaries to gather at designated venues, the Lekki LCDA initiative adopts a community-based approach by taking the palliatives directly to homes, particularly for residents who may struggle with transportation, mobility, or long waiting hours.
The exercise forms part of the welfare-driven programmes of the current administration under the leadership of Engr. Kasali, popularly known as RBK, whose government continues to prioritize grassroots support and people-centered interventions.
Community members who witnessed the distribution commended the initiative, describing it as compassionate, inclusive, and reflective of responsive governance.
Officials involved in the exercise disclosed that the distribution would continue across other communities within Lekki LCDA in the coming days until all targeted beneficiaries for the month are reached.
The monthly food outreach remains one of the social support initiatives designed to ease economic hardship among vulnerable groups while strengthening community welfare across the LCDA.
