Sanwo-Olu to Unveil 16 New Smart Schools in Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to inaugurate sixteen newly constructed school blocks across the metropolis, designed to enhance learning with state-of-the-art technology and smart equipment.
Speaking at a press conference in Alausa, Ikeja, Hakeem Smith, Chairman of the Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS), highlighted that the new schools were built to meet global education standards ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.

“These schools are technologically driven, equipped with smart learning tools to enhance teaching and learning in line with international best practices,” Smith stated.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, described the unveiling as a remarkable milestone, noting that the Sanwo-Olu administration has completed over 2,000 education projects across the state’s six education districts in the past six years.
”Governor Sanwo-Olu’s investment in education infrastructure has transformed public schools, creating a conducive environment for learning,” Omotoso said.
Commissioner for Basic Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, emphasized that the new schools would significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes, aligning with the state’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda.
He further revealed that 500 new teachers were recently employed to fill vacancies in the newly established schools.

According to him, Governor Sanwo-Olu has approved ₦2 billion for the payment of May/June WAEC examination fees for all senior secondary school students in public schools across the state.
The Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS) was established to address the infrastructure challenges in Lagos public schools. With the unveiling of these new schools, the committee continues to bridge the gap in education infrastructure and ensure quality learning for students.
