Daniel Maldini, son of Italian football legend Paolo Maldini, has completed a permanent move to Atalanta from Monza, the club announced on Saturday.
“Atalanta are pleased to confirm the permanent signing of Daniel Maldini from Monza,” said the Bergamo-based team in a statement.

Italian media reports suggest Atalanta paid approximately 11 million euros for the 23-year-old forward, with half of that fee going to AC Milan, who sold him to Monza in January 2023.
Maldini has reportedly signed a contract with Atalanta that runs through June 2029.
Atalanta currently sit third in Serie A, seven points behind leaders Napoli, ahead of their home match against Torino on Saturday.
In October, Daniel Maldini made history by becoming the third generation of his family to play for Italy, making his debut as a substitute in a Nations League match against Israel.

Paolo Maldini, one of Italy’s greatest-ever players, earned 126 caps for his country between 1988 and 2002, a record later surpassed by Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluigi Buffon.
Cesare Maldini, his father, had a more modest international career, earning 14 caps for Italy in the 1960s.
