The Lagos State Head of Service, Olabode Shuaheeb Agoro, has paid glowing tribute to retired education administrator, Segun Osinaike, describing him as a hardworking leader, a mentor, and a man whose legacy will continue to shape the Lagos State Public Service.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Agoro made this known during an interview at the 60th birthday and statutory retirement celebration of Osinaike held at Education District III, Falomo, where top government officials, lawmakers, and stakeholders gathered to honor the outgoing Tutor General/Permanent Secretary.

Speaking with admiration, the Head of Service emphasized Osinaike’s leadership style, noting that he was not only effective in administration but also intentional about developing others.
“Segun Osinaike is a very hardworking man, a good leader that carries everyone along,” Agoro stated.
“Under his administration, four people rose to Tutor General and Permanent Secretary, which clearly shows that he is not just a leader but a mentor who is committed to the growth and progress of his younger colleagues.”
Agoro further highlighted that Osinaike’s ability to nurture talent within the system stands as one of his greatest achievements, describing it as a rare quality in public service leadership.
According to him, the impact of such mentorship goes beyond individual success, contributing to institutional strength and continuity in governance.
The Head of Service also expressed optimism that the state would continue to benefit from Osinaike’s wealth of experience, even after his retirement.
“I sincerely wish Lagos State will consider offering him another appointment because he is a brilliant man who still has a lot to contribute to the development of the state,” he added.
The event, which attracted dignitaries from across Lagos State, served not only as a celebration but also as a reflection of Osinaike’s enduring influence within the education sector.
