The health care centers in Epe Local Government have received significant support from the administration of her executive chairman, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun.

Medical facilities within the local government affirmed the numerous contributions and developments facilitated by the chairman of Epe local government during a recent facility tour that showcased the outstanding administrative works of Princess Animashaun on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

The vice chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, during his address highlighted the achievements of their administration across all sectors since its inception in 2021.

The health care sectors have received massive support to improve health care services from the local government, including the provision of wheelchairs and beds to Epe health centre and Epe general hospital, the provision of 2 functional ambulances for health facilities, 1 year of free medical treatment for over 100 people under the National Health Insurance Scheme programme, and the construction of 10 ultra-modern rooms for doctor’s accommodation at Papa primary health centre.

However, facility visits to medical centres in Epe local government attested to the involvement and support of the local government administration in their respective facilities.

Appreciating the good works of the Epe LG chairman, Mrs. Oderinde Onadipe, the Chief Nursing Officer, Papa Health Center thanked Princess Sura for the construction of accommodation for health care practitioners, stating that it will enable a 24-hour medical service.

‘’we really appreciate the effort of the chairman, whenever we reach out to the local government, we receive prompt compliance, the logde will also go a long way in accommodating our health practitioners.” She said.

Also speaking, the Director Epe general hospital social welfare department, Dr. Ayanbisi, lauded Princess Animashaun’s administration for fostering an extension of 5 million naira in medical support and health services assistant to the vulnerable patients and people in Epe compared to the previous administrations.

‘’The chairman’s administration has enabled an extension of 5 million naira in medical support to patients, which we presented in the last budget; it is also well documented that we have spent over 10 million naira on indigent patients,’’ he stated.

He further cited medical supports facilitated by the chairman, which include provision of facilities, patient’s supports, surgery finances, childbirth support, and accident victim’s support.

‘’If you will permit me to itemize the numerous medical supports of the local government here in Epe General hospital, I’ll go ahead. We’ve had brain tumor surgery, Aiyetoro and teachers accident victims, Hiv patients, and multiple childbirths finances that were facilitated by princess surah.’’ He added.

Alhaja Shabi Aminat, one of the committee members that oversees health affairs in Epe, also gave a follow-up of medical supports beyond Epe general hospital.

‘’ Iya Epe has facilitated numerous medical support, not only here in Epe general hospital; there is no time you will go to Epe PHC that you won’t get medications, she has also facilitated over 100 people for the health insurance scheme.” She stated.
