A massive fire engulfed Focus Holiday Inn, a renowned hotel in the Garki area of Abuja, early Tuesday morning.
The incident reportedly started around 3 a.m., with a guest raising the alarm after rushing to the reception, unclothed, to alert staff about the blaze.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the fire, which began in one section of the three-story building, spread rapidly, causing significant destruction. According to eyewitnesses and reports from Premium Times, the fire consumed much of the hotel before emergency services arrived.
Initial efforts to contact the fire service were unsuccessful, delaying the response time. However, as of the time of this report, firefighters were at the scene battling to contain the flames and prevent further damage.
In a separate development, Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has addressed concerns about her safety amidst the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, USA. The actress reassured her fans via an Instagram statement on Tuesday that she and her family are safe.
Omotola expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and concern, clarifying rumors that she had left the United States due to the fires. “My family and I are safe. I have been in Nigeria since December 2024 and am still here presently,” she stated. She urged media outlets to correct any misinformation about her location and reasons for travel.
Omotola also extended her thoughts and prayers to the people of Los Angeles, emphasizing the importance of unity and resilience in such challenging times. She called on her followers to support relief efforts for those affected by the wildfires, praising the work of first responders and volunteers.
