Ghana To Play Remaining AFCON Qualifiers In Nigeria After CAF Ban
During their last inspection in Ghana, CAF identified several issues with the stadium, including an unsuitable playing field, uneven surfaces, poor drainage, and inadequate grass cover.

Due to these ongoing problems, along with issues at other venues like Cape Coast Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium, CAF has requested Ghana to choose an alternative venue from among those approved outside the country for their Matchday 3 and 4 AFCON qualifiers in October.
Sources from Joy Sport indicate that the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, is the most likely alternative for the Black Stars’ remaining home matches.

Other potential venues include Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny and Stade de la Paix in Côte d’Ivoire, Japoma Stadium in Douala, and Berkane Municipal Stadium in Morocco, where Ghana previously played Niger.
After two AFCON qualifier matches, Ghana has only one point, following a 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw with Niger Republic.
