In a voice recording obtained by SaharaReporters, the kidnappers engaged in a tense negotiation with Ojajuni’s family, rejecting a plea for a reduced ransom.
The abductors revealed they had already shot Ojajuni in the buttock as a warning and insisted that the ransom must be paid in cash.
Ojajuni, speaking under duress, confirmed his injuries and recounted the moment he was ambushed. “It was between Ondo and Kabba that they shot at us. I’m bleeding now,” he told a family member.
During negotiations, the family pleaded for a reduction, offering ₦10 million, but the kidnappers refused. “If you continue talking nonsense, I swear to Almighty God you won’t hear from me again,” the gang leader said.
In a shocking revelation, the kidnappers claimed they were paid ₦50 million to abduct and kill Ojajuni. “We were instructed to cut off his head, his manhood, and remove his eyes,” one of them stated.
