Lara Trump Withdraws From Consideration For Senate Seat
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump, has announced she will no longer pursue a Senate seat.
This comes after she stepped down as co-chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) earlier this month, sparking speculation she might replace Florida Senator Marco Rubio, whom Trump nominated for Secretary of State.

She also expressed her best wishes to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who will choose a replacement to serve the remainder of Rubio’s term, which runs until 2026.
In her post on X on Saturday, Lara Trump said: “I could not have been more honoured to serve as RNC co-chair during the most high-stakes election of our lifetime and I’m truly humbled by the unbelievable support shown to me by the people of our country, and here in the great state of Florida.”
Lara Trump hinted at an upcoming announcement in January, though she did not provide further details.
