LASUBEB, National School Sport Federation Partner to Promote Grassroots Sports

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) welcomed Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, President of the National School Sport Federation, for a collaborative visit on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming National School Board Games, with a particular emphasis on the chess competition, scheduled for schools across the federation.

The primary objective of the visit was to strengthen the partnership between LASUBEB and the National School Sport Federation in promoting sports development at the grassroots level.
Both organizations recognize the significance of engaging young learners in sports activities, as they not only contribute to improved physical and mental health but also instill essential values such as teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
“We are excited to collaborate with Board in organizing this year’s National School Board Games.
The competition provides an excellent platform for pupils to showcase their talents, develop essential life skills, and represent their states in future sporting events,” Mrs. Joseph stated during the meeting.
The Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Shittu warmly welcomed Mrs. Joseph and her team, expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership.
He emphasized that sports play a crucial role in the holistic development of pupils, adding that Board has been committed to promoting sports alongside academics in public primary schools.
