Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu congratulated and offered guidance to 1,130 newly graduated constables of the Nigerian Police Force during the 2022 Constable Passing-Out parade at the Police College in Ikeja.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in his goodwill message, the governor emphasized the importance of upholding integrity, serving with distinction, and embracing professionalism in their law enforcement careers.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, urged the new constables to maintain the highest ethical standards and treat citizens with respect while carrying out their duties.
Additionally, he encouraged them to never compromise their integrity, even in challenging situations.
Mr. Governor congratulated the constables for their hard work, commitment and dedication during the six-month rigorous training at the college. He said “You have made your State, Country, and Families very proud.
The oath you have taken today is a solemn commitment to uphold the law, protect lives and property, and serve the public with integrity, courage, and compassion. The challenges ahead will be demanding, but your training and values will guide you”.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development for the newly graduated constables to stay updated on modern policing techniques and best practices.
He encouraged the constables to support one another while striving for excellence in their roles as law enforcement officers.
Acknowledging the efforts of those who contributed to the recruits’ success, Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Ishola Olanrewaju, the faculty of the Police College, and the parents and guardians who supported the constables throughout their training.

In his address, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, represented by Assistant Inspector General of Police Adegoke Fayoade, urged the constables to diligently serve their country by maintaining law and order. He advised them to balance a calm demeanor with a firm hand in executing their duties.
Among the 1,130 graduating constables, 313 were females and 717 were males, with 266 of them being indigenes of Lagos State.
