Damilola Ayinde Marshall, a lawyer and daughter of renowned Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, has declared her intention to run for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

With over a decade of legal practice, Damilola noted that her experience has equipped her with a solid understanding of justice, leadership, and the needs of the people.
She emphasized her determination to deliver results and represent the interests of young people in the state assembly.
Describing herself as committed and capable, she said her decision to contest stems from a belief that her constituency needs fresh energy and effective representation at this time.
She also urged voters to prioritize competence and progress, ending her announcement with a call for youth inclusion and development.
Damilola is expected to succeed Mosunmola Rotimi Sangodara, who currently represents the constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Academically, she studied law at North America University in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in December 2015. She later obtained a Master of Laws degree from University of Lagos in 2022.
Her appointment as SSA on Tourism in May 2024 by Governor Sanwo-Olu brought her into the public spotlight, a development that was publicly acknowledged by her father during a royal event in Lagos.
Her declaration has since generated reactions online, with notable figures such as Davido and Dayo Amusa expressing support for her political move.
