She said, “My dear people of Kogi Central, I look forward to our peaceful Sallah celebrations today.
“However, should we be met with or infiltrated by violence, Nigerians should hold Gov Òdodo, Yahaya Bello & SP Godswill Akpabio wholly responsible.”
The call is in her commitment to proceed with her scheduled visit to her constituency for the Eid-el-Fitr break and a homecoming rally, despite ongoing speculation and the ban on political gatherings.
Natasha said she’s asserting her statutory function as the elected representative of her constituents, called on her supporters to ignore claims that her visit has been cancelled.
Instead, she has encouraged them to come together and join her in celebrating the Eid-el-Fitr holiday.
Kogi State Government had on Monday announced a ban on all rallies, protests, and public gatherings that could potentially threaten peace and security within the state.
The state government has halted fishing and other activities in areas that have experienced recent violence, including Kasemiya, Katubo, and Umozu Ette in Kogi Local Government Area.
According to Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo, these measures are part of a broader effort to protect the lives and property of Kogi residents.
Also, the police command echoed these concerns, warning Senator Natasha to cancel her planned Sallah rally in light of the ban on political gatherings.
Despite the police’s warnings, videos of the supposed homecoming rally have been circulating on social media.
