The Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Soladoye Ogunlade, has formally stepped down from his role to focus on his legislative aspirations.
Eko Hot Blog reports that on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Ogunlade submitted his resignation letter to Governor Seyi Makinde, marking his entry into the race for the Oyo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Ogunlade described his time leading the road maintenance agency as one of the greatest honors of his public service career.
He expressed deep gratitude to Governor Makinde for the opportunity to serve, noting that the Governor’s visionary leadership and unwavering support were instrumental in the agency’s achievements.
According to Ogunlade, the decision to resign was prompted by a compelling call from his constituents to represent them at the federal level.
Despite his departure from the state cabinet, Ogunlade emphasized that his loyalty to the current administration remains intact.

He pledged to support whoever emerges as the consensus candidate for both the federal constituency and the state’s governorship ticket under the PDP banner.
He praised Governor Makinde’s inclusive style of governance, stating that it continues to inspire a new generation of politicians in Oyo State.
Reflecting on his tenure at OYSROMA, the outgoing chairman thanked the management and staff for their dedication to improving road infrastructure across the state.
