Onyeama Reacts To Latest Attacks On Nigerians

-Minister of foreign Affairs describes those who attack Nigerians as Mindless criminals.
– He said the Nigerian Government will take definite actions on the attacks on Nigerians.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs,Geoffrey Onyeama has reacted to the latest attacks on Nigerian owned businesses and properties by South Africans,saying also that definite measures will be taken on the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

The foreign minister on his verified Twitter handle called the attackers, “mindless criminals” and said police intervention was “ineffective”.

A source told our correspondent that latest attacks on foreigners especially Nigerians in South Africa started last week after a taxi driver was murdered by an alleged drug dealer in Pretoria.

They thought that the alleged killer was a Nigerian, which sparked protests, looting and burning of foreign owned businesses.

In response,the President of Nigerian Union South Africa, Adetola Olubajo on Monday said that the attacks began again on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg where a building was set ablaze by an angry mob.
